Government has left no stone unturned to ensure that digitized system as originally formulated becomes operative in one form or other. In GST Council meeting on October 5, 2020, while Centre and States locked horns over the shortfall in GST Compensation, the Council also observed thrust towards achieving automated compliances and progressive tax regime. The GST Council concluded that current return filing system will be made a default return system and legal framework which earlier materialized will undergo a change. In addition to this, the Council proposed significant changes towards automation.
Through this article, Our Director, Mr. Kulraj Ashpnani and Senior Associate, Mr. Sourabh have tried to highlight the recent changes in the compliance structure and deliberated upon newly proposed system.
