On May 3, 2021 DGTR recommended levy of Countervailing (Anti-Subsidy) duty on import of Fibreboards from Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malaysia for a period of 5 years in conclusion of Anti-subsidy investigation initiated in this regard. The recommendation for levy has been made equivalent to the difference between quantum of Countervailing Duty proposed and ADD payable, if any.

The product excludes flooring boards, sunmica, insulation boards, coir boards, jute fibre board and moulded door skin.

The Ministry of Finance has three months to accept or reject the recommendations of DGTR.
