Ministry of Finance extends Anti-Dumping Duty on Normal Butanol or N- Butyl Alcohol when imported from EU, USA, Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa for a further period of 5 years. (vide Notification No. 21/2021 – Customs (ADD) dated April 12, 2021)

Anti-Dumping Duty on aforementioned products was first imposed in 2016. On review of said investigation, DGTR concluded that products are likely to be dumped beyond expiry of duty causing injury to the domestic industry.

This time around, Ministry of Finance took only 13 days to take a decision to impose anti-dumping duty, which normally takes more than 4 weeks.
