
Implementation of 2nd Phase of faceless e-assessment at Delhi and Mumbai Customs Zones
Vide the trailing mail, we shared an update regarding roll-out of 1st phase of faceless e-assessment under the Customs Turant Scheme. This phase covered goods imported under Chapters 84 and 85 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (‘Customs Tariff Act’) at Bengaluru and Chennai Customs Zones.
Now, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (‘CBIC’) vide Circular No. 34/2020-Customs dated July 30, 2020, has introduced 2nd phase of faceless e-assessment by extending it to Delhi and Mumbai Customs Zones. This phase includes goods falling under Chapters 29, 50 to 71 and 89 to 92 of the Customs Tariff Act. Details of goods covered under faceless e-assessment are tabulated hereunder:
