‘With trade liberalization and globalization, Indian economy is prone to unfair competition. Trade remedy measures seek to address this challenge by allowing domestic producers to file a complaint to remedy adverse effect of imports.
Trade remedy measures generally take form of Anti-Dumping Measures, Countervailing (or Anti-Subsidy) Measures or Safeguard Measures, which seek to eliminate the unfair advantages gained by low-priced and high-volume imports, that cause injury to Indian domestic industry.
